Baseball falls to Indian River

OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team fell 8-2 to Indian River State College on a cold, Saturday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

The Patriots couldn't overcome seven errors, with IRSC capitalizing to score five unearned runs on the day.

Vincent Adonna and David Flores produced the only runs of the game with solo home runs in the first and fourth innings. Flores, a freshman from Western High School in Miami, has recorded a home run in each of his first college games.

Will Reddick and transfer Matt Coello had solid at-bats for CF, each going 2-for-4 at the plate.

On the mound, Ryan Aspinwall threw four complete innings, allowing eight hits and three earned runs while striking out four in the loss.

CF will be back on the field when they travel to Tampa on Monday to face Hillsborough Community College. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
