Cassala, Heyer and Wallace earn FCSAA All-State honors

OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team was well represented when the Region 8 coaches recently released the FCSAA All-State Teams.

CF's Luke Heyer and John Casssala earned first-team honors, while Cooper Wallace was named to the second team.

Heyer led the state during the regular season with 61 RBI and was fourth in home runs with 12.

The University of Kentucky signee had 20 hits from April 1 on to help the Patriots reach the state tournament as a wildcard.

Heyer also hit .368 during the season.

Cassala knocked in 17 runs and hit four home runs from April 1 on to back Heyer in helping CF reach the postseason. He was CF's leading hitter during the regular season at .391 and added eight homers and 56 RBI.

Cassala also hit CF's lone home run at the state tournament in a loss to Eastern Florida State. 

Wallace was at the top of the wins list in Region 8 down the stretch with nine victories and joined David Lebron to give the Patriots a powerful 1-2 punch in their starting rotation.

Along the way, Wallace earned Region 8 Pitcher of the Week and entered the postseason tied for the state lead in pitching wins.
