Baseball rolls past Lake-Sumter State

OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team used a huge six-run effort in the first inning on its way to a 9-3 win over Lake-Sumter State College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Patriots (22-15, 4-9) led 8-1 after three innings and cruised over the LakeHawks.

Cooper Wallace earned the win for CF, as he scattered five hits and two runs over six innings of work.

Wallace didn't walk a batter and struck out four, before he gave way to Kyle Hansen, who went the final three innings.

At the plate, Vincent Addona (1-for-5, two RBI), Luke Heyer (1-for-4, two runs scored, double), John Cassala (two runs scored), Bradley Felkel (1-for-4, run scored), Ryan Knowles (1-for-3, run scored, four RBI, double), Levi Hollingsworth (1-for-4, run scored, RBI), Evan Holland (RBI), N.J. Williamson (2-for-4, two runs scored) and B.J. Harmon (2-for-3) led the Patriots at the plate.

CF visits Lake-Sumter on Friday. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
