JACKSONVILLE- The College of Central Florida baseball team used a seven-run effort in the second inning and held off a late charge by Florida State College at Jacksonville in a 9-7 win on Wednesday afternoon.
The Patriots (18-13, 2-7) snapped a three-game conference losing streak and salvaged the final game of the three-game set with the Blue Wave.
Connor Crile (2-for-4, two runs scored, three RBI, three-run home run), John Cassala (2-for-5, run scored, RBI), Garrett Wright (2-for-4, run scored, RBI) and Dalton Mauldin (2-for-4, run scored, RBI) paced CF at the plate.
Cooper Wallace threw six complete, allowing five runs on six hits and struck out five for the win.
The Patriots will be back at home on Saturday as they kick off a three-game series with Seminole State College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
