Baseball sweeps Jackson College

OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team downed Jackson College 12-1, 15-0 on Monday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

Luke Heyer blasted a pair of home runs, while Octavio Mirabal struck out 10 batters en rout to a 12-1 win in the first game of the doubleheader. 

Mirabal needed just 101 pitches to set down Jackson. He didn't allow a run on five hits over seven innings of work.

In second game, Patriots' pitching staff combined for a seven-inning shut out win, while the offense went off scoring 15 runs. 

Luke Heyer (4-for-5, 6 RBI, 2 HR) and John Cassala (5-for-6, 6 RBI, 2 HR) led the Patriots at the plate over the course of the doubleheader.

The Patriots open up their Mid-Florida Conference schedule with a visit to rival Santa Fe on Wednesday afternoon at 3.
