Six-run 8th inning rallies CF Baseball past HCC

TAMPA- The College of Central Florida baseball team picked up a huge comeback win over Hillsborough Community College on Monday afternoon.

Trailing 5-0 entering the top of the eighth, the Patriots exploded for six runs in the inning and went on to a 7-5 win over the Hawks.

Levi Hollingsworth hit the go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning for CF.

Earlier in the frame, Bradley Felkel smashed a leadoff solo homer and Garrett Wright would another solo shot for an insurance run for the Patriots.

The comeback made Jacob Grenus the winner in relief.

Grenus pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to close the game.

HCC pushed its lead to 5-0 with two runs in the seventh, but CF came alive with its big inning to remain unbeaten.

According to Gamechanger.com, the Hawks had a 100 percent win probability entering the eighth inning, but Hollingsworth's homer changed all of that, as the Patriots launched one of their biggest comebacks in recent memory.
