TAMPA- The College of Central Florida baseball team picked up a huge comeback win over Hillsborough Community College on Monday afternoon.
Trailing 5-0 entering the top of the eighth, the Patriots exploded for six runs in the inning and went on to a 7-5 win over the Hawks.
Levi Hollingsworth hit the go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning for CF.
The comeback made Jacob Grenus the winner in relief.
Grenus pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to close the game.
HCC pushed its lead to 5-0 with two runs in the seventh, but CF came alive with its big inning to remain unbeaten.
According to Gamechanger.com, the Hawks had a 100 percent win probability entering the eighth inning, but Hollingsworth's homer changed all of that, as the Patriots launched one of their biggest comebacks in recent memory.
