GAINESVILLE- The College of Central Florida baseball team ended its season on a four-game winning streak and in the process threw a wrench into rival Santa Fe's hopes for the Mid-Florida Conference championship.
The Patriots (28-21, 13-11) downed the Saints 10-4 on Saturday afternoon.
Heyer (4-for-5, three runs scored, two RBI), Crile (2-for-4, run scored, RBI) and Christian Khawam (double) were the top hitters for the Patriots, who split the season series, 2-2 with the Saints.
With the score tied at 2 heading into the fifth, CF scored three times in the top of the innning and took the lead for good.
The Patriots added two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh and pulled away from SFC.
CF missed out on a shot the postseason due to a seven-game losing streak that came before its current four-game winning streak.
