OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team was swept in a home doubleheader by Palm Beach State on Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots (3-4) dropped the opener 3-2, before they fell 8-2 in the nightcap.
In the opener, CF led 2-0 heading into the seventh inning, before the Panthers tied things up and eventually won the game with a run in the ninth.
Octavio Mirabal went seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out six in a 101-pitch outing.
The Patriots scored twice in the fifth to take the early lead, before the rally by Palm Beach.
In the second game, Palm Beach built a 2-0 lead in the third, but saw CF tie things up in the fourth. From there, the Panthers scored six times in the sixth inning and broke things open.
The Patriots host State College of Florida-Manatee on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m.
