Smith, Jolley sign with four-year schools

The pipeline from the College of Central Florida baseball team to the four-year level continued recently.

Robby Jolley recently inked a deal with Florida A&M, while Ryan Smith is headed to Valdosta (Ga.) State.

Jolley hit .278 with 20 RBI for the Patriots last spring and had a key hit in the win over Chipola, the nation's top-ranked team at the time, in the FCSAA State Tournament.

The Ocala Forest High product saw time in the outfield and at catcher during his CF career, with the latter spot being a position he was honored by the Mid-Florida Conference as a freshman.

Smith, a sophomore outfielder, hit .260 with one homer and 24 RBI for CF this past spring.

In conference play, Smith, who like Jolley starred at Ocala Forest High, really picked up his play. His overall average in the MFC was .366 and he hit his homer and knocked in 16 runs.
