Biegalski, Lugo and Velasquez sign with four-year schools

Ocala, FL-- A trio of players who sparked the College of Central Florida baseball team to a third-place finish in the recent FCSAA State Tournament are moving on to the four-year level.

Boomer Biegalski (Florida State), Enderson Velasquez (Embry Riddle) and David Lugo (Florida Southern) recently inked deals with their respective schools after helping CF to the state tournament.

Bieglaksi's lone season in Ocala was one to remember, as he finished 8-4 and ended his career with a stellar showing in the state tournament.

With back-to-back complete games at state, Biegalski first knocked off top-ranked Chipola and ended things with a 13-strikeout performance against eventual state champion Miami Dade.

He'll be headed back home when he joins FSU.

During his high school career, Biegalski pitched Tallahassee Chiles to a great deal of postseason success. Now, he will have the chance to show off what enabled him to earn FCSAA Pitcher of the Week on two occasions and jumpstart CF's run in the Mid-Florida Conference this past spring.

Velasquez, a two-year starter at shortstop, was CF's leading hitter during the conference season and also hit a pair of home runs at the state tournament.

He joined Christian Khawam as CF players to earn all-tournament honors for the state tournament.

Lugo, a two-year starter in the outfield, had an excellent state tournament with a pair of triples and was one of the Patriots considered for all-tournament honors in the postseason.

CF coach Marty Smith also confirmed several other members of this year's sophomore class are taking official visits and will be making their choices in terms of where they will play at the four-year level very soon.
