Nine baseball players receive All-Conference honors

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida baseball team put together an impressive run throughout its Mid-Florida Conference schedule and was rewarded for their efforts when the league's coaches put together the all-conference team.

Christian Khawam (OF), Enderson Velasquez (IF), Boomer Biegalski (P), Colby Brown (C) and Connor Crile (DH) earned first-team honors for CF.

Khawam, a freshman from Miami Southridge High, added the first-team all-conference pick to his list of accomplishments which already include CF's Male Athlete of the Year award, as well as the CF Baseball MVP honor. For the year, Khawam had 22 doubles, seven homers and 47 RBI. He hit .340 in MFC play with three homers and 20 RBI.

Velasquez hit .400 in conference play and finished the year at .380 with three homers and 33 RBI.

Brown had a late-season surge where he hit safely in nine of 10 games. For the year, he hit .281 with two homers and 17 RBI, with a .288 average, one home run and 12 RBI in conference play.

Bieglaski, a two-time FCSAA Pitcher of the Week, went 7-3 with a 2.87 ERA. The freshman from Tallahassee recorded 95 strikeouts in 91 innings. Biegalski will get the start in the Patriots' FCSAA State Tournament opener in Lakeland against Chipola on Friday, May 9 against Chipola at 7 p.m.

 

Connor Crile finished the year with a .340 average, two homers and 16 RBI. He averaged .320 MFC play hitting both of his home runs and driving in 11.

 

Making the second-team for CF were Ryan Smith (OF), N.J. Williamson (IF), Ryan Crile (IF), while Kenny McDonald (P) was an honorable mention pick.
