OCALA--The College of Central Florida men's basketball team received a generous donation from Cone Distributing through their fundraising efforts for the 2017 Wayne Childers Memorial Big Sun Scramble, a yearly golf fundraiser benefiting the CF men's basketball scholarship program.

"Words can't describe how thankful we are for Cone's support of the CF men's basketball program," said head coach Tim Ryan. "Doug Cone, Charlie Ingrilli and Joey Lopez have been instrumental in helping us raise funds for over 15 years. We wouldn't be able to run a high-caliber basketball program if it weren't for their help."

Cone Distributing's fundraising efforts for the Big Sun Scramble assist with enhancing scholarships for players, aids in additional travel and equipment expenses, and provides resources for scouting and recruiting.

For more than 15 years, Cone Distributing has helped impact the lives of many men's basketball players in more ways than one.

"Cone Distributing has been an integral part of our men's basketball team's success through the years," said CF athletic director Bob Zelinski. "It takes a strong commitment from our community partners to run a high-quality athletic program and Cone Distributing has been a leader for us in that commitment.  Because of that commitment, we are able to provide 14 full scholarships for our men's basketball program and lift the financial burden that these players might have otherwise had to bear."
